Choosing the right showerhead for your home is one of those decisions that seem like less of a priority compared to other household necessities, nevertheless, it’s very important. Statistics imply that a single individual could take over 28,000 showers throughout the course of their lifetime, wasting thousands of gallons of water in the process. A key factor in conserving water is choosing the right showerhead, and that often means ditching a stationary spout for a handheld one. With many benefits under its belt, the handheld showerhead is best known for its flexibility of use and reduced water usage, and with so many designs to choose from, the decision can seem overwhelming. So here are five of our preferred showerheads to suit a range of budgets and requirements.

1. Ana Bath 5 Inch 5 Function Handheld Shower and Shower Head Combo

The Ana Bath showerhead is a combo system with two five-inch, five function shower heads, one of which is handheld. This stainless steel, chrome-finished system, which includes a three-way diverter mount, is easy to install and adjust. The diverter allows you to choose which showerhead you wish to use while further allowing you to select both at once. Less expensive than other showerheads, the system is listed at a little over $70, making it a sensible choice for many budgets.

2. Rejuvenator Micro Bubble Hand Held Shower Head

The Rejuvenator shower system employs MicroBubble technology for deep pore cleansing. Although it comes as a single showerhead, it comes with a diverter in case you wish to install a second. This stainless steel unit is easy to install and includes self-cleaning jets, making it a low maintenance piece, which bathroom items usually aren’t. The system is listed at a little below $110.

3. American Standard Traditional 5-Function Complete Hand Shower Kit

The American Standard includes a slide rail allowing the height of the showerhead to be easily adjusted. This chrome-finished shower system offers five spray patterns, and also includes a double-check valve and wall supply. This high-quality showerhead is on the higher end of the price spectrum, listed at around $258.

4. Grohe Relexa Top 4 Hand Shower

The Grohe Relexor can be set to four different spray patterns, incorporating Grohe DreamSpray technology for optimal water distribution. The chrome-finished showerhead has easy-to-clean, silicon nozzles along with integrated snap coupling, which prevents the hose from twisting. Less expensive than the American Standard, this shower system is listed at just under $170.

5.  Delta Seven-Spray Hand Shower

Finally, the Delta showerhead is one of the cheaper shower options, listed at under $40. Nevertheless, it still offers seven spray functions and ergonomic design. This contemporary style shower system includes anti-clog nozzles, which prevent the build-up of mineral deposits in the showerhead. Naturally, each of these five options will be far better suited to some homes than others. Consider your personal requirements and you may find that one of the above options appeals to you. Don’t forget to call in a plumber to properly install your new investment, to ensure you are getting the most out of your product.
